A bright white shaker kitchen built around a large veined quartz island, with glass-front uppers, a stainless hood and matt black hardware throughout.
Not every kitchen wants to be white. This one is stained maple throughout, with raised panel doors, a panelled refrigerator and a black range hood that anchors the cooking wall.
The peninsula does the heavy lifting: it seats the family on one side, holds the sink on the other, and separates the kitchen from the dining area without closing it off. The marble-look quartz carries up the wall as a backsplash so the veining is continuous.
A second island in a lighter finish adds prep space and keeps the middle of the room usable rather than empty.
